Thursday July 9th 2009 was a day of great connections for God. We have been telling everybody we meet who we are = Cristanas and why we are here = compartir la palabra de Dios. el gospel. el amore, paz y esperanza que Dios puede dar gente con nuestra
ministeria de baile liturgico (to share the word of God, the Gospel, the love, peace and hope that God can give people with our ministry of liturgical dance.) During our break time in our Spanish class yesterday we met an amazing married couple. They both are natives of Costa Rica and they teach Spanish at the school in Tamarindo where we are attending. They are Christians and they were very happy to learn about our dance ministry. Last night we went to the church that they both lead singing and are Youth Pastors; Iglesia Jesucristo Restauro. Jesus Christ Restored Church. This church is non-denominational. It was spectacular. Everyone greeted us with hugs and kisses yes...literally hugs and kisses. We sang together in praise and worship for 30 minutes. There was a lot of arms and hands raised in the air as well as bodies moving around in their seated area or around the room. I loved this. I love to see and participate in this passion and enthusiasm in praise and admiration to God. WOW!! There were a lot of prayers shared and Bible verses read with guidance from the Pastor and commentaries from the people. This is a group of people that have regular worship and Bible study times each week. They meet in the Pastor's carport area; no church building. They are fairly new and are trying to introduce many people in this little village, Villareal to God. This village has a lot of nonbelievers and nonpracticing believers. Their goal is to help the people understand the gospel and embrace God. It is planned that we will share our dance next week as well as possibly teach others so they can take this visual expression of the word of God and messages of the Christian songs to others when we leave.
Today we met another person that teaches at our school that wants us to come and dance as a part of the Vacation Bible School that is currently ongoing that is put on by several churches from the US right now due to the children are on break from school.
Please pray for these above opportunities for God will actually come to life and allow us to bring Jesus Christ ALIVE in the hearts of many people. Also for our safety and good health. Candice has many, many mosquito bites and is coping well, but this is unpleaseant for her to say the least. I am so glad all our shots are up to date and that we took all the shots reccomended for us to have when coming to Central America...as well as the pills for thyphoid and malaria. The heat is challenging for me as the MS symptoms are more active with more hot temperatures. I've found ways to get out of the heat especially in the middle of the day. Under a roof or in the shade with a fan works good and an ice pack that I brought from home. I am able to maintain the special diet here with no problems; mostly fruits and vegetables. I am trying to maintain my resting requirement. My legs have been swelling and hurting more than they usually do so I've been trying to keep them up whenever I can and stretching them a lot. Doing these things help.
GOD is GOOD all the time....All the time GOD is GOOD!
With love.
Lisa
